The Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is the largest sewage treatment facility operated by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP). The site covers 54 acres, and the plant can handle 310 million gallons of wastewater per day, with about 250 million gallons being the daily average, representing about 18 percent% of the city's wastewater.

The NYCDEP Newtown Creek WWTP facility upgrade project included the construction of a dichlorination facility to treat effluent prior to discharge off site.

JPCL provided special inspections of concrete, structural steel welding, bolting, masonry, fire rated construction, fire resistant penetrations and joints, alternative materials, post installed anchors, and ECC to ensure regulatory and specification compliance.
