The Hunts Point Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is one of the largest of New York City’s 14 water pollution control plants. The plant treats wastewater from a 16,000-acre area located in the northeast part of the Bronx. The project comprises of variety of work including rehabilitation of the existing sludge digester and storage tanks, installation of new polymer feed facilities which will enhance nitrogen removal, and other miscellaneous improvements to existing facilities. The project also includes the environmental restoration of the Barretto Point site adjacent to the plant. The total estimated construction cost for the project is $518 million.

JPCL was retained to provide special inspections in the areas of Structural Steel Welding, Bolting and Erection, Structural Stability and NDT services. In addition, JPCL also provided Post Construction Concrete Cast in Place, Masonry, Mechanical Systems and Fire-Resistant Penetrating System inspections.
