JPCL has been actively involved in several terminal development projects at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) as part of the airport's $13 billion modernization and transformation program. Our team has provided a range of services, including construction observation, environmental oversight, traffic analysis, and special inspections for the following terminal projects:

Terminal 8 Capacity Enhancement Project

  • Provided observation of demolition activities, environmental oversight during excavation and earthwork, and ensured compliance with stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) and soil erosion and sediment control (SESC) plan for two terminal extensions at American Airlines, Terminal 8 building.
  • Conducted capacity sensitivity analysis using VISSIM simulations to determine the maximum capacity at key weaving and merging areas near the terminal and explore future development options.
  • Performed signal warrant analysis based on proposed traffic recirculation routes at a cargo area in JFK Airport, following the 2009 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) Chapter 4 guidance.
  • Created GIS maps for speed data visualization and reviewed Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) plans on Van Wyck Expressway (VWE) and JFK Airport to compile an inventory of lane closure schedules.

Terminal 4 Expansion Project

  • Provided ongoing periodic Special Inspections for the $1.5 billion PANYNJ contract for JFK Terminal 4 project (DELTA Airlines), including pilling, structural steel welding and bolting, shop fabrication, soil compaction, subgrade inspection, CMU Reinforcement, rebar, concrete (cast-in-place), and masonry fire stopping inspections.
  • Conducted Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) as part of the testing services provided for the project.

Terminal 1 Redevelopment Project

  • Contributed to the redevelopment of Terminal 1, which is a key component of JFK's modernization program, aimed at enhancing passenger experience and improving operational efficiency.

Through our involvement in these terminal development projects, JPCL has demonstrated its expertise in providing comprehensive services that support the successful execution of large-scale airport infrastructure projects, contributing to the overall modernization and transformation of JFK Airport.
