Snug Harbor Cultural Center Music Hall, Dressing Room ADA Compliance, Staten Island, NY

Scope of Work
Special Inspections │ Material Testing │ QA/QC

Project Description:

The renovation and expansion project of the Music Hall Theater located on the Snug Harbor campus in Staten Island was initiated to increase the theater’s ability to hold larger productions with added entertainment venues.

At the project start, JCPL provided an existing conditions survey and photographic documentation of the historic landmarked Music Hall and Chapel.  Baseline instrumentation including total station survey equipment, tiltmeters, vibration monitors and crack monitors were installed to measure potential impacts to the building during construction activities.

On an on-going basis, JPCL provided periodic Special Inspections for the project including new building foundation and its complete construction to the historic building finish work. JPCL provided all required structural, mechanical, fire protection and energy code compliance inspections. In addition, material testing services were provided by our laboratory for ongoing samples of cast-in-place concrete prepared by JPCL on-site inspectors. JPCL’s contributions to the project helped ensure its success.
