Title: Mechanical Engineer II
Job Duties:
• Review of specifications, MEP calculations, quality control, equipment maintenance, safety, and mechanical engineering project support.
• For MEP Systems: review technical specifications, perform sizing for piping, ducts, and diffusers using the knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and carry out load calculations with Autodesk Revit MEP
• Review quality control standards for mechanical inspection reports including combined heating units, ventilation and cooling units, and boilers as per International Mechanical Code (IMC) and International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC).
• Perform Finite Element Modeling, Design, and Analysis of HVAC systems using ANSYS/CFD for thermal comfort and ventilation modeling.
• Perform field inspections and non-destructive testing.
• Assist engineers in acquiring, upkeeping, and upgrading mechanical equipment utilized in material testing and non-destructive testing, and scheduling services and establishing safety protocols for such mechanical equipment.
• Research and evaluate operational procedures for conducting mechanical system specification reviews, CAD drawings review, and inspections. Consult with senior engineers to recommend remedial actions for smooth running of engineering projects.
• Assist engineers and project managers with preparing proposals, estimating costs and submitting bids for engineering and construction projects involving mechanical systems.
• Supervise junior mechanical engineers.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 18 months of experience as Intern Engineer, Project Manager, Research Assistant, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer II, or a related occupation required. Employer accepts full-time or equivalent part-time experience (including academic research experience) gained during or after undergraduate studies.
Required skills:
• Using Autodesk Revit MEP;
• Finite Element Modeling;
• Design and Analysis of HVAC systems using Ansys CFD for heat transfer, thermal comfort, and ventilation modeling;
• Reviewing heat/thermal calculations for Mechanical Systems;
• Performing non-destructive testing: Eddy Current Testing and Ultrasonic Thickness Testing;
• Utilized knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing during the design and review of HVAC systems;
• Preparing designs/drawings on AutoCAD; and
• Using CAD software to design and simulate loads on different structures.
